TEN years ago, Bethlehem First Baptist Church decided to provide a high quality youth event at an unbelievable low price to be used to grow God's Kingdom (not just our church). The goal was simple, to bring in young people and minister to them with the hope and intent that they make decisions for Christ whether that be salvation or other personal decisions.

This is now our 10th year hosting RESCUE, and the theme for this years event is "The X Factor." Therefore the "X" stands for 10, but more importantly, "X" is the first letter for Christ in the Greek language. So it is our goal that each student at RESCUE discovers that Christ is the X Factor we all need. "RESCUE" is an all day event in which Middle School and High School students will spend time worshipping with Joel Goddard's band, entertained and challenged by Christian illusionist Jared Hall, amazed by the Sand Artist Joe Castillo, and hear the Word of God from guest speaker Jeremy Kingsley, but that's not all. Throughout the afternoon groups will compete in team building activities like "X Marks The Spot" and "The Inflatable X Games", have time to visit with the artists, fellowship with other teens and so much more.

The way this event works is very cost friendly and evangelistic; a ticket for one student is $20 and includes two meals, a T-shirt, and all the day's activities. For each ticket purchased, another ticket will be provided for you to use as an outreach invitation. Each one of these tickets will include the same thing - two meals, a T-shirt, etc. All we ask is that you make sure these extra tickets end up in the hands of someone who NEEDS Jesus.

Rescue tickets are still available and can be purchased at the door on Saturday morning

Jeremy Kingsley

Joe Castillo

          After twenty-one years in the advertising business and the loss of his beloved wife of 26 years to breast cancer, he sold his ad agency and enrolled in Asbury Seminary. His profound love of teaching the scriptures inspired him to illustrate what he was learning in a new way. These illustrations are attempts to present the Bible in an intricate story-form that grows out of the Biblical passages.

Joe's latest adventure in creative expression is something he calls SAND ART. Drawing in sand on a light table, Joe is able to create powerful, fluid illustrations for large audiences with an overhead video camera projected on a large screen. Make sure you watch the short video clip entitled, "The Passion of the Christ."

Joel Goddard

Joel Goddard has traveled all over the country for the past 15 years leading people in response to God's glory. For the past 4 years, he has served as the Worship Pastor at Bethlehem First Baptist Church.

His new album, "i believe," was release in June 2010.

He will be featuring his entire band at RESCUE.
