The purpose of the LIFEGroup Ministries at Bethlehem First Baptist Church is “to connect people in a community of approximately 6-12 people who meet regularly to encourage and challenge each other to grow in their relationship with God and each other, and so live out the LIFE values.” 

As a microcosm of the church as a whole, the LIFEGroups live out the L.I.F.E. vision of BFBC: 

L:  Loving God 
I:   Inviting and Investing in People 
F:  Finding Your Place and
E:  Experiencing LIFE Together

The LIFEGroups incorporate six values supporting the groups’ purpose as a ministry.  Loving God happens through worship and encouraging members to connect with God.  Inviting and Investing in People is the reason that groups focus on both evangelism and discipleship.  Finding Your Place is lived out by groups’ encouragement for members to participate in ministry and service in their areas of gifting and passion.  Experiencing LIFE Together takes place very naturally in the fellowship and community which takes place in a small group setting. 

Leadership within LIFEGroups is literally “grown.”  All leaders have designated apprentice leaders, who are in training to birth their own groups.  Those apprentices, when they birth, choose their own apprentice leaders to begin discipling, thus growing the next generation of leaders.  Each leader is in place beneath a coach, whose purpose is to mentor, encourage, and continue training the leader.
